How to look good on your webcam – hire an actor to play you!

    1. Elizabeth Spann CraigAugust 23, 2015

Alex–I think I like that answer! Ha! Seeing myself on a webcam is always, for me, the equivalent of seeing myself in a fitting room mirror. Never good!

  2. Margot KinbergAugust 23, 2015

There’s always such a treasure trove of great links here, Elizabeth – thanks! I think that, more and more, authors need to be comfortable on webcam, as awkward as it can feel. People respond to those images. And research shows that we think and learn in different ways – including the visual and audio. So I can see how it might allow us to reach out to readers in a new way.

Margot–That’s what I’ve read, too. I’ve got an audio clip up on my site, but no video. Although I’m just about to shoot one (reviewing a cozy) for a YouTube blogger. :) I need all the tips I can get, ha!

Hope you have a great week, Sue!

Every week, I set this email aside until I have time to do it justice.

If y’all are interested in feeling more comfortable on camera, a friend of mine who’s an actor and entrepreneur is offering a lifetime membership in his video courses for $10 right now:

    http://courses.nathanagin.com/

Nathan is amazing. Low key, but he’s taught even an old stage hog like me a thing or two. Any one of his videos will teach you something you’ll always use.

Joel–Thanks for the tip! I’ll check it out.
