Today is Awards Day on Mystery Writing is Murder. Look around you—see all the celebrities in evening clothes, the multimillion dollar bling the stars are wearing, the hilarious Master of Ceremonies, the orchestra? No? Sorry about that. But please use your imagination…we’re all writers here!
I’ve received some fantastic awards from my blogging friends and wanted to return the favor during an awards ceremony. I read a lot of blogs. I have many favorites. Today I’m recognizing some of my favorite places to hang out online, and some of the friends, new and old, I’ve made in my browsing trek.
Please accept the award with my thanks for your comments and your wonderful blogs. You’re welcome to post them or not, pass them on or not—with my thanks to you all!
I also want to thank everyone who takes the time to comment on Mystery Writing is Murder. I appreciate your thoughts and insights so much and only wish I could list everyone here who regularly visits me.

*****Rule for Passing on the Kreativ Blogger Award
It functions as a meme—list 7 of your favorite things, 7 of your favorite activities, 7 things no one knows about you, etc.
Elizabeth, thanks so much for the humane award and your very kind comments about my comments. Your blog is one of my very favorites.
Karen
Thanks for the Humane Award, Elizabeth.
You have a terrific blog–always clever, funny, and fresh. I look forward to hearing what you have to say (er, write) every day.
Keep it up!
Elizabeth;
I’m on the West Coast so this was a lovely thing to wake up to on a Monday morning! Thank you, thank you. I award “Black Dogs of Despair…” the best blog title ever. I knew that Winston Churchill used to refer to his problem with depression as his “black dog” but that title made me grin. Thanks for the links…more to explore!
Congratulations on all your awards! – and thanks a lot for thinking of me.
Thanks!!! I’m blushing :)
I like the humane award; supporting positive encouragment is wonderful.
Thank you, Elizabeth! And congrats to you on receiving so many awards from your fellow bloggers. Yours are all very much deserved.
Helen
Straight From Hel
Congrats to you AND to your recipients on all the awards!
I want to thank my mother for making this award possible! Really I do! And thank you so much Elizabeth – as you know it can be somewhat lonely tapping away and it is nice to know folks read and appreciate one! I totally appreciate you. For a description of the awards dinner go to my site!
Jan
Thanks for the links to some great sites!
Wow – thanks! I feel so, so – so … AWARDED! LOL
Well deserved, Elizabeth, and good of you to pay it forward to so many cool bloggy buddy peeps. :)
The Old Silly
If I’d known I was coming to such a special event, I would have worn something different and combed my hair! Thanks for the Superior Scribbler Award. I am honored.
Hi Elizabeth, looks like you’ve been really busy. You’re everywhere at once it seems. Nice of you to honor the scribes who serve.
Marybeth–You’re so welcome!
Helen–Same to you–you’ve got enough awards for a special trophy room!
Carol–And thanks to YOU for your many comments.
Labanan–I’m going to head over to the dinner in a sec!
Karen–I always get a lift of my spirits when I go to your site. And I look forward to your comments.
Alan–So do you! Thanks for all your comments and guest post on mine.
Carolyn–You’re welcome. They’re all work a regular visit to.
Marvin–You’re welcome! :) And congrats on all your many awards.
Elspeth–You’re welcome! Have a wonderful morning.
Jane–Oh, I didn’t comb my hair, either. :) The blessings of the internet! You’re so welcome.
Karen–You’re another one of my wonderful commenters! And a great blog, too–sigh. Clearly I need more awards to hand out. Hope your frost didn’t do too much damage the other night.
Dorte—You’re so welcome! :)
Tara–I like that one, too. It’s so nice to GET great comments and support.
Elizabeth, your blog soooo deserves every award it gets. You write informative and interesting copy that’s posted regularly. Yours is one of my favorite stops.
It’s funny I should receive an award with a creative reference in the title. I never thought of myself as particularly creative. I’ve a technical writer background, so tend to tell and be rather to the point. So, something that hints that there’s something creative about me is much to be coveted. Thanks so much.
Best Regards, Galen
Imagineering Fiction Blog
Galen, you’ve got tons of creativity…reflected in both your writing and your blog (which I know is having an overhaul right now…but you have very creative visual ideas, too.)
I have a background in journalism, which shares a lot with technical writing in some ways (we had to toe the line with our writing.) But it’s a good background to have.
Elizabeth, Congratulations on your well-deserved awards, and thanks a whole bunch for thinking of me when you passed on Kreativ Blogger. I am honored and will do my best to deserve the award on into the future (and will pray brain freeze doesn’t strike at a critical moment).
Thank yu so much!
Now, who will I choose…

Diane, if you’re like me then it’s so hard! I love all my commenters and all the blogs I visit regularly. Good luck.
Elizabeth-this was such a FABULOUS surprise! You have such a generous spirit. I love your blog and all I learn, but your support of all of us just trying to get going is truly over and above, and I thank you SO MUCH!!!!
You’re so welcome, Hart! I really appreciate all your thoughtful comments on my blog. And thanks so much for the compliment. You have an awesome blog, yourself! Time for a little recognition. :)
Elizabeth
Hi, Elizabeth! I found you through Alan Orloff. I’m also a mystery writer, working on the second in a series of cozies. I love your blog, plus you look strikingly like an editor I’ve worked with! Stop by my place if you get the chance. I’m following you now, so try and behave. (Yeah, right. Just like your characters do!)
Patricia, even when you have blogger’s block, you’re interesting!
Hi Debra! Thanks for popping by from Alan’s. Gosh, I hope it was an editor you liked. :) I’m following your blog now, thanks for the tip. And no, I never behave. :)
Dang, girl. You ruined my very proud Rebel Writer record of NEVER being nominated for any dang award by any group EVER. I’m so proud of that record. It’s shot to hell now.
(Just kidding. Thanks, E.)

Have fun, Nancy! I enjoy your blog, too.
