How to write science fiction – if I haven’t figured it out by now, I’m doomed.
Now, how does one write a suicide memoir? From the grave?
Alex–Yeah, that’s a somewhat misleading subgenre name, I agree. Apparently, the author writes a memoir and he/she is close to the victim in some way…the illustration in the post was someone who knew Plath and offered insights to her suicide. The post definition: ” investigation is at the crux of any suicide memoir, a subgenre that borrows from both true crime and biography.”
Dark reading, for sure.
As always, Elizabeth, I really appreciate your gathering so many great links. To be honest, I’ve been thinking for a bit now about whether to go self-pub, although I keep going back and forth on it. You’ve get some terrific links here on aspects of business side of writing, and that helps.
Margot–I’ll post on this soon but…yeah, I have to recommend self-pub over trad-pub. Hope you’ll look into it–so many informative resources on the subject out there to help us out.
